The long way around the Earth

The plan is simple. I leave in 2031 and spend the years after it going the long way around the Earth, staying a while in the places most trips pass straight through. What I find gets written down here: the towns, the people who put me up for a night, the food, the buses that never run on time. There is nothing to read yet. The road has not started.
